Cardiovascular Disease Risk Assessment

Most people think they’re in the clear if their cholesterol looks “normal,” but standard lipid panels often miss the deeper risk factors behind heart disease. At Healthspan Longevity, we go beyond routine testing to measure the markers that actually predict outcomes.

Our Cardiovascular Disease Risk Assessment uses advanced biomarkers that provide a far more accurate picture of your true risk. If you want to be proactive, not reactive, about your heart health, this is where to start.

What This Test Measures

This panel includes three powerful biomarkers that work together to assess the balance between protective and harmful lipoproteins, and to detect hidden genetic risk.

Apo A1
Apo A1 is the primary protein in HDL, often called your good cholesterol. Higher levels are protective and associated with better cardiovascular outcomes.

Apo B
Apo B is the main protein in LDL and other atherogenic particles that contribute to plaque buildup in your arteries. Elevated Apo B is one of the strongest predictors of cardiovascular disease even when total LDL is normal.

Apo B to Apo A1 Ratio
This ratio reflects the balance of your cholesterol transport system. A lower ratio means your body has more protective particles relative to harmful ones. It’s a much more reliable indicator than total cholesterol or LDL alone.

Lipoprotein(a) or Lp(a)
Lp(a) is a genetically determined particle that increases clotting risk and promotes inflammation in your arteries. It is not included in standard cholesterol testing, but elevated Lp(a) is associated with significantly higher risk of heart attack, stroke, and aortic valve disease—especially in people with a family history of early cardiovascular events.

Why These Tests Matter

Most annual physicals rely on outdated lipid panels that don’t tell the full story. Many people with “good” cholesterol numbers still experience heart attacks, and others with high LDL may not be at real risk. These advanced biomarkers give you a much more accurate, individualized assessment.

With this panel, you can
See whether your good and bad cholesterol particles are truly in balance
Detect elevated Lp(a) that would otherwise go unnoticed
Take early, informed steps to protect your arteries
Make better decisions about diet, lifestyle, and medication

Who Should Get This Test

This assessment is recommended for
Anyone with a personal or family history of heart disease
Individuals with normal cholesterol but unexplained concern

Take Action Early

Cardiovascular disease develops quietly over decades. By the time symptoms show up, plaque has often been building for years. This panel helps you catch risk early, correct course, and protect both your lifespan and your healthspan.
